The poor economy and local conditions have not helped, with corporate donations down and the need even greater, Sub-for-Santa has been holding fundraisers and yard sales and asks everyone who can help to pitch in. Even if it seems you can only give a little, it WILL help.
Sub for Santa partners with the local food bank and other charitable organizations, coordinating and reaching out to those in need - and to those who would like to help.
There are many ways to help -
1. Adopt one or more children by providing a toy or other needed item -
Contact Sub-for-Santa for a name or visit an official Giving Tree location to choose a child to sponsor. There is an Angel Tree at Jensen's department store in Manti and a Giving Tree at The Corner Station at 111 S. State in Fairview.

Because there are so many kids in need, the maximum expenditure per child is requested to be $30.
Most applications list one or two wants or needs for each child, the age and gender of the child. Shop wherever you like and return the unwrapped item(s) to the giving tree location. It's great to involve the kids in your family.
2. Make a monetary donation to the program. Donations (any amount helps) may be mailed to SUB FOR SANTA, PO BOX 302, MOUNT PLEASANT, UT, 84647 or dropped off at any of the drop off points below. Donation cans are in place throughout the Sanpete Valley.
3. Donate a new toy, blanket or other new item to a drop off point. Popular and in-demand items are
- cuddle blankets for kids
- clothing for cold weather, coats, shoes, pants, etc.
- remote control vehicles for various ages
- toy trucks & cars
- doll sets, princess and baby dolls
- lego type toys
- Littlest Pet Shop toys, La La Loopsy items
- Barbies
- MP3 type players or current electronics for teens
- Art & craft itemsbooks
- - - more ideas and specifics to come

5. Make blankets, scarves, doll blankets or ??? for the kids. Materials for blankets and fleece scarves are available by calling 435-427-5500.
6. VOLUNTEER to help the organizers of Sub-for-Santa. The Sub-for-Santa center is located on Snow College West Campus. Help is also needed seeking donations and picking up donated toys.
There is still time to sign up for assistance. Please apply for only one Christmas giving program per year. The deadline for turning in your application is December 5th, 2012.
